Aftenposten A/S selects SCC for historic digitization and archive project August 22, 2008 ALPHARETTA, GA., (August 22, 2008) -- SCC is pleased to announce the sale of a second SCC MediaServer multimedia content management system to Aftenposten A/S, publishers of Norway's second largest newspaper. This latest SCC MediaServer system purchase is part of a project to scan from microfilm, and subsequently digitize and convert into PDF, approximately 1.6 million newspaper pages and approximately 32 million newspaper clippings dating back to 1860. Each converted page and article PDF file will be saved and automatically inserted into the SCC MediaServer system with each page automatically linked to the relevant article files. Users of the SCC system will be able to perform full-text searches against all words contained in the page and article database and easily retrieve related documents via a simple click on the link icon beneath any single record. The Aftenposten A/S digitization and archive project is performed in co-operation with the National Library of Norway.
